This is Victor “Ticklah” Axlerod and Bosco Mann’s makossa-style reworking of Antibalas’ afrobeat cover of the Hector Lavoe hit “Che Che Cole (penned by Willie Colon). Has been out of print for 3 years.

Binky Griptite is one of the guitarists as well as the emcee for Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. Recorded in 2002.

First released on the Dunham Records imprint as their debut 45 single (DNM-101) in 2006 and later included as the title track on their debut full-length album. Released October 2008.

23. Sharon Jones & Lee Fields-Stranded In Your Love
A duet from Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings’ sophomore album “Naturally”, released in January 2005. Sharon and Lee later performed this live at the record release party for the “100 Days, 100 Nights” album at The Apollo Theater in 2007.
